JILL'S RACE IN THE GOODWILL GAMES
BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA
Sept, 6th, 2001

Checking In (Hmmm, do I choose the cute guy to watch my warm-ups ?)
Warming up.
Contemplating (Did coach really say it was 50 laps ?)
Everyone is called to the starting line.
Introducing the field
The world meets Jill Zenner.
The start - And yes, that is Jill in the lead with 50 just laps to go!
One mile done, just 11 and a half to go.
13 is her lucky number.
Mid-race and check out the great double support phase
In a big stadium on a cold, windy, winter night a person can appear so small and frail.
Note the the aid stations for each walker on the far side of the track.
And the race is over. 6th place overall. Click here to see the winner
It was a tough race for both as Australia's all time best retires.
I think her coach better beware after shipping her off to walk those 50 laps.
Time to thank the fans and receive the good luck banner her coach shipped from the states.
Just one item of business left. Rehydration for drug testing. Did you try some Foster's ? Thanks to Anouska Luyke for taking, scanning and sending the pictures and to all the other employees from Ball's office in Brisbane for cheering for Jill during her long race.
